Although each exam is unique to the patient's needs depending on their health and visual needs, a typical exam may include:
- Medical history
- Measurement of visual acuity
- Pupil dilation (to evaluate the back part of the eyes)
- Intraocular pressure (Glaucoma)
- Blood Pressure
- Visual Field test
- Analysis
- Diagnosis
- Prescription (lenses or medicine)
- Prognosis
All patients under 18 years of age, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the appointment. An examination will reveal common problems such as retinal detachments, corneal diseases, glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts or anything else that you may or may not be symptomatic of.
